Hachnosas Orchim at Arie Crown
On Thursday, the nursery at Arie Crown put on a little show for the families of the nursery students. Adina and Shalom looked excited, as we all waited with bated breath for the show to begin. They started with a stunning rendition of "Shalom Shalom". This led to "Rosh, Einayim.."Shalom preferred not to do the motions (or sing for that matter). "Who built the teivah?" was next followed by a fall song. The finally was the kids using simple instruments to complement Beethoven's sixth. The crowd was on their feet, calling for an encore, but alas, the stars of the show had enough and were whisked away to their classrooms. We followed and were offered concessions such as dried fruit and Sunkist fruit gems. A grand time was had by all.

sounds like we missed a party. Post pics?
ReplyDeleteOkay, I went to the hachnosas orchim thing and I think we missed your show. This is the way I remembered it....After coming late, panting from running down three blocks to get to the show ontime, the children were halfway done with their performance. I had approx. 3 minutes to grab a camera, take a picture before the children cleared out. The crowd was full but no one was screaming and the performance was a bunch of children barely moving their mouths while the teachers were egging them on to loud music. The classical portion of Beethoven was the highlight because the music teacher obviously taught the children the importance of tempo and beat. The performance was sweet but I would not call it grand. Perhaps the second time one might view the performance as "amateurish." However, PM you missed a party...
