it's a thing-a-majig that goes into the tubing of a chrome tiered shelf unit. i bought a 2 shelf unit to stack on top of our current 3 shelf unit. however, the 2 shelf unit only has 2 of these connector things, and i need 4. but alas, they changed the way they make them and i cant seem to get a hold of these pieces anymore... :(
